    Macon, GA
In my experience, smaller towns are way crazier than bigger cities. There might be more crime in a large town, but sometimes it's hard to tell. I was in Raywick, Kentucky, population 150 about 4 years ago. I was going over my notes in the parking lot when all of a sudden I heard a siren coming closer. A red mustang flew past the bar followed by a police car with the back window blown out. The old men sitting on the front porch of the bar told me that the cop following the Mustang had shot the driver's mother 20 years earlier. Apparently, on that day, it was payback time. The driver shot at the cop, missed, and was now trying to escape the clutches of the law. Nothing says "inconspicuous getaway car" quite like a red Mustang.

The point of that story is I never saw it in the paper. For some reason, small town crime doesn't get covered the way it does in bigger towns. If that had occurred in Louisville, Mustang Johnny would be all over the front page.

Last time I was in Macon, it got a little rowdy at the Whiskey River, which is right next to the club. These Bo and Luke Duke wannabes driving a pickup truck decided to leave the complex in grand Hee Haw style. Rather than leaving the way they came in, these Tennessee geniuses decided to go off-roadin' and drive around the comedy club, where there is no pavement. Like a spider-web waiting for flies, there was a gaping hole in the ground waiting to trap rednecks. I've added a few pictures so people can see what I'm talking about. Hopefully a little chaos will ensue this weekend. I'll post more pix if it does.
